Things I Amplify from the web

To what uses are micro-arrays of piezoelectric components being put?

SL Jira VWR-17168 Separate Real World info from SL info in profile tab

I don't want to see people's Real Life info unless I deliberately look for it.

Separate Real World information from Second Life in the profile tab

Move the real world information to its own tab in the resident's profile. RL information will still be there for those who want to see it but not forced upon those who don't want to see it.

Virgil Fix playing Bach’s Prelude & Fugue in A minor

My dad took me to hear Virgil Fox. I loved it back then and I still do.

I wish some dance troop would do a modern, "sexy", fast paced dance to music like thiis. It's so fast paced it would be perfect for a dance with speed and rhythm.

Is it my imagination, or is Amplify poorly behaved and not very robust?

Amplify does not seem to be having an easy time when used on Second Life's jira.secondlife.com site.  On one jira issue, you can clip the issue title, but on the next, you can't.  I clicked on something to clip and it crashed Firefox.  I supposed one might say that means Firefox is not as robust as one might want, but there's not much else that just makes it vanish from the screen instantly.

Second Life's Jive SBS website might share in the blame as well, although I'm not sure exactly how the Atlassian jira software works with Jive or if it does at all.

#SL Jira: VWR-18712 Allow the “Speak” button to be removed http://bit.ly/HideSpeakButton #SecondLife

I filed a similar issue to this one which was marked as duplicate of this one. My issue wasn't precisely a duplicate of this issue, but the person who marked it as a duplicate doesn't always read with attention to detail. It's pretty close, though.  If you'd like to have the voice buttons removed from the button bar when you have voice disabled, vote for this one entered by Mimika Oh

WR-18712 Allow the "Speak" button to be removed, like other buttons
The bottom bar of the viewer has buttons which can be enabled and disabled by right-clicking the bar. Except the Speak button, which remains even when Voice is totally disabled, and can't be removed.

Please allow it to be removed. When voice is disabled, it is just wasting space.

#SL Jira: VWR-19189 Group-list in profile is a wall of text

The previous JIra issue on this topic that I posted about a few hours ago was just marked as a duplicate of this issue. If you'd like to be able to read the group list, vote for this jira issue. This problem stems from trying to fit the inventory, profile, group and other dialogs into the same size dialog box so they can all fit in "the sidebar". The sidebar was a bad idea, and this is one of the problems it created. Vote for this issue.

Look at the profile of this friendly troll (screenshot "profile")
To someone with dyslexia (like me) the group-list looks like a "wall of text".
The font isn't clear, the line-spacing is too small, the underlining is confusing, and I can't see where an entry starts or ends.

In other words: I can't read this. It's an antheap crawling with letters.
And then I look down and see this endless sea of grey ...

#SL Jira VWR-23024: Replace the sidebar icons with a main menu option

I don't want little icons sticking into the 3D viewport all the time, nor most nor even some of the time. You shouldn't want that either.

Next I'll think I'll file an issue to get the "Stand Up" button out of the viewport.

As a user, I'd like to have the sidebar icons replaced with a "Panels" option in the main menu

As a user,I don't want any icons, such as specifically the sidebar icons for inventory, people, etc. sticking into the 3D viewport. I'd like them replaced with a "Panels" option in the main menu.

#SL Jira: keep a searchable list of previously used display names to chose from #SecondLife

Ceera Murakami proposed a nice idea: Keep a publicly searchable list of display names for a user to choose from - the user can change names easily, and others can find them by searching for one of the names in the list.

Amplifyd from jira.secondlife.com

Display Names: Retain a queue of previously used Display Names that the resident can switch between, and which remain visible in their Profile

Make the Resident's Profile display an "AKA list", located on the Profile tab, between their in-world info and their real life info, and showing the last 10 Display Names that the Resident has used.

Those ten names could be switched between at will by the resident for use as Display Names, with no fee, but new names could only be added to the list once per week (with or without a fee, or a requirement to be Premium, or other restrictions). That list would be searchable data, so even if the resident wasn't displaying "Trevor Bloodmoon the Werewolf" as their current display name, you could still find them in Search by that inactive but occasionally used display name.

Group list is unreadable in viewer 2.0+

There are a number of places in the Second Life Viewer 2 interface where text is illegible. In some cases, it's the color scheme, in others, it's the size of the text, the line spacing, and the use of legibility reducing gradient backgrounds. This is one example.

Amplifyd from jira.secondlife.com
Description:

The group list in viewer 1.23 was displayed very prominently and legibly in the profile. Now all the groups are mashed together without linebreaks, and all underlined, which creates a very-hard-to-read mess.
